Eclipse 2017
Olivia Brown at Hang Art, San Francisco, April 1-17, 2017

One shadow passes over another’s light, creating strange, silvery ambiguity. The temporary shifting obscures spatial rigidity, alters perception...becomes an invitation for unconscious peripheral vision and sensual engagement, Our senses enhance across our bodies as the light dims. Inhale and exhale, feel, what the body/skin sees, the eyes cannot. During the transition as some things are hidden and others revealed, There is a sense of magical possibility entailed. How does this become experiential physically through the viscerality of painting, both in dynamic and in more subtle senses of movement in the body?
